Recovery

20% of what you recover. Nothing before that.

AI-written email sequences and card network retries across 30 days. Four decline categories handled with different sequences. You pay only when Recova recovers a payment.

How it works

01

Payment fails on Stripe

Recova receives the webhook within seconds. The decline code is classified into one of four categories: soft, network, expired, or fraud.

02

Recova starts a sequence

An AI-written email sequence begins, timed to card network retry windows. Retry steps attempt the charge directly via Stripe. The sequence runs for up to 30 days.

03

You pay 20% of what recovers

At the start of the following month, Recova invoices 20% of payments recovered in the prior period. Nothing owed on sequences that do not recover.

Smarter than Smart Retries

Four categories. Four different sequences.

Stripe's Smart Retries treat all declines the same. Recova classifies every decline code, soft, network, expired, or fraud, and runs a different sequence for each. A fraud decline gets no retry steps. An expired card gets emails focused on updating payment info. A soft decline gets both emails and retries timed to card network windows.

Questions

What counts as a recovered payment?

A payment is recovered when Recova's sequence results in the invoice being paid. Attribution is tracked per step. Payments that Stripe's Smart Retries recover independently are not counted as Recova recoveries.

What happens if a customer replies to a recovery email?

Replies go to your notification email, the one set in Recova settings. Recova sends with your brand name, so replies come back to you.

Can I pause or cancel a sequence?

Yes. From the payment detail page you can pause, resume, or cancel any active sequence. You can also override the next step or trigger an immediate retry at any time.
